Both Robert M. Drake and r.h. Sin are no strangers to the world of contemporary popular poetry, and each of them are viral sensations with over 1.5 million Instagram followers. They have both published bestselling collections before, but this is the first volume in which they combined their efforts. Drake’s poems are mostly reflections of the world we live in and how we respond, and a positive and hopeful thread runs through his section. Sin’s poems are more inward-looking, and most of them deal with the pain of romantic loss and betrayal. It’s a good pairing, a sort of day and night combination, but I found Drake’s section to be the better one of the two – thematically and technically. It’s still a very worthwhile read overall, and the pretty cover makes it a lovely addition to your own bookshelf, or a great gift idea.
