This novel takes you on a poetical and thorny journey of a teenage girl named Tiger, who had nothing in the world and depended on no one except her mother, June.

On the adverse occasion of losing the physical bond between her and June through death, she must learn how to survive in the world at her tender age alone while carrying the huge weight of loss.

Having to go through foster care, discovering hidden veils wrapped by her late mother, and bearing the pain of regret of the last days with her mother, she develops tumultuous feelings. She craves for her mother’s love but also has feelings of anger towards her.

The novel accurately depicts what it means to mourn, and how one grows through the process. A natural part of the human journey is travelling through paths of adversity, tribulations and misery. The message is you have to learn to live through these situations, or better still, learn to make friends with these feelings, people and situations you come across in life.

As the author Kathleen Glasgow states;

“This book is about learning how to go on, about finding your way in the dark.
This book is for the grievers,
This book is for the left behind,
This book is for every broken heart searching for a home.
